Earlier this year we informed residents that we were planning to rebuild the Creekwood Kiosk this Autumn. Plans for a new building were posted, and the Postmaster approved the new design. However, it has been very difficult to find someone to bid on the project at a reasonable cost. Many construction projects have encountered these problems during the pandemic. It is the result of a robust construction industry and material shortages that have led to lumber costs increasing by up to 130%!
We are scheduling a building power wash and minor repairs until we can re-evaluate the situation early next year. We share our residents’ disappointment in not being able to complete this project in a timely manner.
