24 Sep Fearrington Havurah
Our next meeting will take place Tuesday, October 15, at 7 pm in The Gathering Place. Genealogist Deborah Long will present Three Guides, Four Countries: A Daughter of Holocaust Survivors Travels to Their Ancestral Villages. In a dynamic visual presentation, Deborah recounts her shocking 2009 unearthing of family artifacts that compelled her to visit her ancestral villages in Poland, Hungary, and northern Germany to understand her parents’ Holocaust history. This narrative serves to inspire those researchers up against all odds – few names, no family artifacts or photographs, and no living relatives. She will review her methodology, her trip through shtetls and concentration camps, and her joyful discovery upon returning home.
Guests are always welcome for a $5 guest fee. Contact Catherine Garland at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about Fearrington Havurah.
