Bulletin Board Updated – Topics!

The Bulletin Board has had a minor face-lift with the addition of a new feature: Topics.

When you create A new post you may (but don’t have to) include a Topic, either by selecting from the available topics or by typing a new one. The purpose of a Topic is to be able to show only topics with the same name. For example, if you wanted to see only posts with the topic “Plumbers” you could look under “Display Options” for the line “Show posts with topic:”, type a few letters (like “plu”) in the box and click “Plumbers” when it appears. This will cause the list below to show only those posts with “Plumbers” as a topic. The little “Remove image” to the right of the box will clear the selected topic and show all posts.

The selection of available topics is the 20 most recent unique topics found in the FHA database. If you want to give or receive information about an exotic subject like iguanas or Tasmania, it may not exist on the site, so will not be in the available selection list. In this case, just type the full topic and ignore the selection list. Note that your new topic will certainly appear in the topics list thenceforth (until superceded by 20 new topics) so type carefully!
