Our research skills aren’t just for researching the long-ago deceased; they also apply to researching a 20th-century loved one. Diane will talk about her research into the youth of her English-born “mum” (or “mom”). Think you know your mom? By the time one is an adult, we often assume that we know all there is to know about, say, a mother, father, or grandparents. How wrong we might be. We sometimes get so focused on researching the long-ago deceased that we skip over the individuals we lived with or frequently visited. Don’t wait!
