Note: In the event of inclement weather, this program will be held in the Large Room at The Gathering Place.
Join naturalist Andy Upshaw as he shares his favorite local sites for birding, spotting wildlife, hiking, communing with trees, and identifying plants. This program offers highlights from his popular nature classes at CCCC where he leads field trips to explore local botany, ornithology, geology, and archeology.
Andy is a North Carolina native and has lived in Chatham County since 1980. As a JC Raulston fellow, he taught plant identification at NC State University and conducted plant research at the JCR Arboretum. He serves on the board of Grand Trees of Chatham County and has participated in Audubon bird counts for over 40 years.
Bring a chair for his talk and expect a short nature walk!
