Our goal
The goal of the Fearrington Dog Club is to learn about dogs and the pleasures of sharing our lives with them. Our meetings feature presentations on a range of topics from training and health to enrichment activities and dog culture. It is also our objective to foster social connections among fellow canine enthusiasts We meet at The Gathering Place most months.

At our March meeting, Fearrington resident Katie Baer will discuss changing approaches to dog training. She will explain how behavioral science has reshaped our understanding of how dogs learn and the best ways to train them. Katie brings to the topic her skills as a reporter and writer in the health care field, including canine health and behavior.

General meeting information
- We have reserved The Gathering Place for the 3rd Thursday of most months, September – May.
We meet 1:00 – 2:20 p.m. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. - Covid/Masks: Please check the FHA web page (fearringtonfha.org) for the current Covid mask policy (or pack a mask just in case).
- People only. Our meetings are for canine enthusiasts, so leave your dog at home (with a nicely stuffed Kong perhaps?) In keeping with the ADA and NC law, only service animals are permitted in The Gathering Place.
Club membership
Any Fearrington or Galloway Ridge resident with an interest in learning more about dogs is welcome. Feel free to sample us for up to two meetings. Thereafter, we ask you to become a member. Our annual dues are $20 per person or $30 for a two-person household. Click here for our Membership Application.
Our club’s history
Early 2021 a few of us, recognizing that many Village residents shared their homes with dogs, decided to form a club. Our goals? To improve the lives of our dogs by increasing our knowledge of canine behavior. And, at the same time, make new friends. After delays brought on by Covid, we launched in September 2022. We’re still working out club details and hope, as our membership grows, we’ll pick up momentum in the coming months.
