26 Jan Fearrington Garden Club Field Trip!
The Fearrington Garden Club had yet another hugely successful and fun field trip! We went to Glass Half Full in Carrboro for lunch and then on to Southern States for an hour’s talk on “Container Gardening for Decks and Patios”. We learned all about the different kinds of containers available and which ones are best to withstand the cold. The knowledgeable ladies at Southern States discussed the right way to start a container for herbs; what kind of soil and containers are best for orchids; how to enrich the soil in containers from year to year and so many other really useful tips.
More than half our members attended which was a record turnout for us! We had several brand new members who attended this event. Thanks to everyone for your support and we look forward to seeing you all on February 18 at the Gathering Place to hear Laura Kiper discuss “Trouble Spots In Your Garden”.
